Putting On The Armour Of The Lord

Hey Mamas,

I hope you are all well! In preparation for the upcoming year I wanted to reach out and encourage you all to remain vigilant and prepared for 2025. We are aware that the enemy is prowling, looking for ways to cause discord, to create havoc and to steal, kill and joy, but that shall not be our portion. Amen?

I pray that this post will help and encourage you all.

As we leave this year by God’s grace it is important for us to be fully equipped.

In the same way we would wear our clothing, cover our hair, and wear our coats to protect ourselves from the harsh weather, we must put on the full armour of the Lord.

“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness; and your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” - ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭6‬:‭10‬-‭18‬.

Ephesians 6 verse 12 says “for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities,” we are not fighting a physical battle, but a spiritual one. I always remember as a child, one of the Missionaries in my church talking about a spiritual battle being fought in the midst and as a child I used to think, “that’s impossible because I cannot see it.” Now as an adult with a little bit more life experience, I have more understanding of exactly what she meant. Just because we cannot see a physical battle, it does not mean it is not occurring. There is a spiritual battle commencing to win souls for the kingdom of darkness and to save souls for God’s kingdom. Often this is why we are attacked in certain areas in our lives.

God does not want bad or evil for His children. He is not a God who relishes in the idea of pain and suffering.

It is vital as children of God to always be prepared because the enemy is a thief, and a thief does not necessarily give warnings when they attack. A thief is not going to come into your home and say, “hello, I’m here to steal your car, can I have tour car keys please?!” In the same way the enemy is not going to approach you and ask you kindly for access in your life for him to get up to his evil schemes.

“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” - 1 Peter‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬.

Without the shield of faith, we will be attacked by fear, negativity and doubt. Without the helmet of salvation, we will be at risk of allowing the enemy to play with our mind and toy with our emotions. Without the word of the Lord, we would be lost. Imagine embarking on a long-distance journey to an unfamiliar destination without a map and no road signs. You would expect to become lost. It is impossible to go through life unequipped and without the Lord. Many have tried it and have failed.

The enemy studies us, from conception to birth, through our toddler years to our childhood, then through our teenage years straight to adulthood. He cannot read our thoughts like God can because only God has that power. However, he does hear our words, and he does study our actions therefore he has become familiar with areas in our lives to attack.

Putting on the whole armour of the Lord and keeping our eyes and minds fixed on God and the word of God will ensure that we are living our lives as we should. Therefore, if and when attacks occur, we will be better prepared in dealing with them.

You will hear more from me soon.

For now, I leave you with a prayer:

I pray that moving forward as we wear the belt of truth we will only believe in God’s truth. May we wear the breastplate of righteousness as we walk as new men and women pursuing righteousness over the desires of our flesh. May our feet be fitted with the preparation that comes from the gospel of peace. May we hold our shield of faith high so that we do not succumb to the fiery darts of the wicked. Finally, may we wear our helmet of salvation and hold our sword of the Spirit daily as we choose to trust God regardless of what we may encounter.

With Love,

Roxanne-Sasha x
