Being Still.
Overthinking and constantly worrying about things that have not happened or may never happen causes us so much unnecessary stress. Excessive worrying destroys our happiness and replaces it with constant dread and fear. I hope that my blog post will help you to put things into perspective and reflect on what truly matters!
1. Be in the present.
Take away all thoughts about the future, what could happen, what might happen and what has not happened by reflecting on the present space that you are currently in. Focus on what is happening in the here and now, what are you planning to do today? Have you got anything exciting planned? Focusing on what today holds brings far greater joy than worrying about tomorrow.
2. Use power words - affirmations.
Speak these phrases over your life continously, throughout the day and whenever you need them. They do not have to be long phrases, they can be as short and snappy as you like. The point is that they should be able to hep you to regain some sort of calm and control in your life. By repeating these phrases you are actually speaking life and positivity into the atmosphere. The mind believes what you tell it.

3. Change your environment.
If you have been stuck indoors for a few days, get ready and go out. It does not matter exactly where you go so long as you leave your house and get some well needed fresh air. Take in the different sights and attractions and lose yourself as you explore. Distract your overthinking with the beauty of God's creations around you. Whilst you are out you can even treat yourself to something nice, my daughter and I love flowers, so a bunch of flowers almost always brightens up our day!
4. Meditate on the word.
Meditating on God's word will help you to engage your mind in a similar way that affirmations will. Everything in God's word is usually positive and gives us hope as believers. Whenever I read God's word I feel so reassured of who I am and God's love for me. The bible is the most useful tool for us to utilise, it has absolutely everything we require in there. It is full of wisdom and knowledge and this is what God wants us as believers to have access too. Use your bible, study God's word and train your mind to be obedient to God's word.
"Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof." - Matthew 6:34.

My bible study journal:
In a nutshell God does not call us to worry about tomorrow or next week. God has already written out the plan for our lives and He will always know what is going to come next. To worry and fret is like saying we do not trust God. God has plans to prosper us, to give us hope and to give us a bright future. What are some tips you have about dealing with overthinking and worrying?
With Love,
