7 Scriptures To Help You Finish 2020 Strong!

I have had to remind myself of this for the last few days. I was preparing to spend Christmas with my family as we do for Christmas every year, but then Boris Johnson, the Prime Minister announced that we were going into Tier 4.

It put me in a weird place because since my grandad died many years ago, as a family we always made the most out of Christmas for him and the children in the family. He absolutely loved Christmas because he loved having all of his family around him. Him, my mother and aunts would always cook up a storm, but nobody could quite make salmon like he did!

Reminding myself to be positive and be grateful that I won't be alone for Christmas because I have Isabella-Grace has helped me to shift my focus back on what truly matters. I am grateful my family and loved ones are all well. I am also grateful that this whirlwind of a year is coming to a close, I pray that 2021 will bring us more positive energy, joy, peace, good health and whatever else God has in mind for each one of us.

I have put together 7 scriptures that will help you to finish 2020 strong! Happy holidays and all the best for the New Year ahead.

1. "Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.." - Ephesians 3:20.

If you're reading this I am positive that God has come through for you in so many ways this year. The fact He has kept you safe, kept your family well and looked after you is a blessing in itself. Many have lost their homes, sadly lost family members and lost their jobs, if God has provided for you, kept you safe and well then you ought to give Him the praise! He deserves that. God is showing us that He will continue to do exceedingly and abundantly more than what we've ever imagined. By God's grace 2021 will be a great year!

2. "For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end." - Jeremiah 29:11.

God has declared that He has thoughts of peace for us, He has great plans to bring us through and to give us a great life ahead. We only need to trust that He is the same God, the God who has always gone out of His way to make sure that His children have provisions. The same God who has given us a hope, a bright future and has written off our past. I thank God for reminding me that my past is who I used to be! My future is who God wants me to be. Aspire for greater, you can do it!

3. "Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert." - Isaiah 43:19.

One thing about God is He is going to make a way when there seems like there is nothing that can be done. He doesn't think little like humans, He thinks BIG! What man declares as impossible, God states is POSSIBLE!! God is always going to do a new thing, in His time, in His own way. He doesn't need assistance, He has got it all covered!

4. "Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus." - Philippians 4:6‭-‬7.

Why should we worry when God is in control?! God has always been in control even before 2020, He continues to remain in control. He created the entire universe, He knows what is to come and has planned every single detail down to the last second. When you know who is in control of your life, you should not worry or fear. God has not given us the spirit of fear we must be bold understanding who is in control.

5. "Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them." - Mark 11:24.

We don't wish for things. As believers in Christ we PRAY, have FAITH and we ASK God for what we desire. We rest with the assurance that He will answer our prayers. God knows what we need before we even murmur a word to Him, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't ask Him. If you are desiring a promotion, ask God. Whatever it is you need, God is your source. Don't run to humans, run to God.

6. "Commit thy works unto the Lord , and thy thoughts shall be established." - Proverbs 16:3.

Before we make plans, we should always submit our plans to our Father in heaven. This saves us a lot of time, disappointment and sadness because if God doesn't will for us to do something or to have something then He will let us know. When we run ahead of God and what we rush after doesn't end up being good for us, we blame God, but the question is, did God tell us what we went after was for us?! In 2021 we won't be doing any of that. We will be submitting our plans to God first. We won't move until He orders our footsteps.

7. "I will say of the Lord , He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust." - Psalms 91:2.

Lastly, a reminder that before we race to tell others what is going wrong in our lives. Let's always look to God. Let's trust that the issues we face are miniscule when it comes to the outpouring of blessings God has provided us with. God is our refuge, He is our strong tower and He is who we cling to when we face adversities. In God, we trust forever.
